Going to be warm spring day. That's exciting, but what is really exciting for me, is the next step in getting 'Tannion - Future Past', book four in the Tannion Series, published has started. The book is off being formatted and as soon as I get it back, I will be able to purchase the back cover and spine for the print version and hopefully within a couple of weeks, my fourth book will be published.

Of course publishing and selling are two completely different things as my sales are basically at zero. Maybe having a fourth book in the series will help, but I get the impression that as before, I am publishing books for my pleasure and almost no one else. If you haven't taken a look at my books yet, please take the time to check them out.

I have added a few more chapters to 'Bentley' my spinoff novel from the Tannion Series. It is getting closer to the end with almost seventy thousand words and counting. Still not sure how it will end, but I have a good idea. It, however, like the eleven other books I have written and not published, will probably never be published. Not unless something drastic was to change.

That's it for now and for the first time in months, I actually have some news worth talking about. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-90251724031123120022021-05-03T07:41:00.003-07:002021-05-03T07:41:40.535-07:00
Good morning. Another Monday is upon us and time to say a few words. Missed a couple of Mondays mostly as there hasn't been much to say.

I have added another couple of chapters to my next book 'Bentley', the spinoff from my Tannion series. It is getting closer to the end as it has 67 thousand plus words and I think I have the ending in my head. My next project is to get the 4th book in the Tannion series published in the next two months. I need to buy the cover which I have already picked out and then solicit some help in formatting and maybe then it will be published.

I plan on using Amazon platform as it has taken over from Createspace which I had used before. I was happy with Createspace so I'm hoping Amazon will do as good a job. If there are any thoughts out there on whether that is the case or not, please let me know.

We are still fairly locked down because of the pandemic we are supposed to be in. People are being vaccinated and maybe it will end one day, but with the talk of a vaccine passport, I'm not sure where we are heading. Here in Alberta we are having a large number of cases, but almost no deaths and the number of people in the hospital is low compared to what it was in the last wave and very low in comparison to the number of beds available. You however will never hear that on the news.

The news is all doom and gloom with the number of cases being so high that we must all be ready to die. Bull crap is what it is but time will tell.

That's all for now. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-75208287094475511872021-04-12T09:15:00.003-07:002021-04-12T09:15:35.431-07:00
Hi there. Two more weeks have come and gone and it's time to say a few words. With what is happening in the world and around our house, there really hasn't been much to say. No one is doing much.

I have been writing and now have almost sixty five thousand words in my next book. 'Bentley' is the title of the spinoff to my 'Tannion Series' that I have mentioned many time previously. Don't know how it's going to end yet, but it's getting closer.

I have been reading as usual, but I am reading Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and I'm finding it a tough read. I know it's not a genre that I would normally enjoy and as it's an older book, the writing style is a little different, but it's more than that. I can't seem to keep the characters straight. Other than the woman telling the story to the new guy, I've been having trouble with both the female and male characters. Heathcliff is the only character that I get right all the time and now that I am more than half way through, I'm finally getting some of the others straight. Has made it a difficult read and one that I will finish and be glad to be done.

Covid 19 is still with us and I will spare you any rant. As more people get vaccinated, hopefully it will come to some sort of end by this summer. I want to do some out of country travelling this fall and won't be able to unless we get on the other side of this virus. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I tentatively have May booked as my publication month for the fourth book in the 'Tannion Series'. It will not be a major release, but I will mention it here when it happens. 'Tannion Future Past' is ready to go with only a few things to figure out. Please watch for further information.

That's all for now. Talk again soon.
waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-8903701332834376492021-03-29T15:23:00.000-07:002021-03-29T15:23:11.828-07:00
Hi there. Another Monday has come and almost gone and it's time to say a few words. As the weather slowly improves, it's been a little nicer to head outside for a while. That is until last night and today. Snow last night and very strong winds made it not much fun and for the several cars and trucks in multiple car pile ups on the ice covered highways, it was downright dangerous.

Of course Covid is still with us, but the vaccine is slowly rolling out. Of course trying to understand some of the news around that vaccine can be a little scary as well. First one of the vaccines was good for those over sixty five and then it might cause blood clots, but now maybe it's not good for those under fifty five. Who knows what to believe.

On my front, I have managed to put another chapter on the book 'Bentley', the spinoff from the Tannion Series that I have ben writing on and off for what seems to be a very long time. Maybe I'll finish it this year and maybe not. Maybe it will give me a blood clot.

Working hard on other projects though. Almost forty one thousand names in my genealogy file now and still growing but more importantly are the Facebook groups I have created to help bring the closer relatives together. There however are always a few holdouts that either never look at their Facebook accounts or have no interest in their family tree. I will keep trying though.

That's it for this week. Keep safe and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-37608068324219139502021-03-22T14:26:00.000-07:002021-03-22T14:26:02.071-07:00
Hi there. It's another Monday and another post. A little later in the day, but it's still Monday. Today is the day the government is supposed to tell us that some of the Covid restrictions have been relaxed, but my guess is that, even though the thresholds have been reached, the restrictions will remain. Assuming I'm correct, it's once again the people we hire and pay to run the place who don't really know what they are doing.

I have been writing this past week and now have another two thousand or so words added to 'Bentley' my spinoff book from the Tannion Series. It is still moving along slowly, but it is moving. I still hope to have the fourth book in the Tannion Series out this spring. With luck it will be May. I did make an attempt to sell a few books with a little advertising, but to no avail. A few pages were read, but there were no sales. I have suspended the idea for now.

Spring has sprung. The weather is improving and it's now time to get outside, walk a little more and enjoy the weather. Of course it would be nice if my knee would stop hurting, but I'll just have to walk through it.

That's it for now. Not much to say, but talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-62651742585983686512021-03-15T08:46:00.001-07:002021-03-15T08:46:08.784-07:00
Good Monday morning. It felt like a short week. I am a curling fan so watching the Canadian curling championship (The Brier) all week made it go fast. Also the team I was cheering for managed to win and now will go to worlds in a couple of weeks. More curling for me to watch.

I've been making some good progress on my next book 'Bentley', the spinoff from the Tannion Series. I've added another three chapters and have almost sixty thousand words and counting. The end is in sight even if I'm not sure how it is going to end.

I also finished reading an interesting book titled 'Rollback'. A science fiction novel set in the near future where aliens have been heard from and medical science has controlled most diseases and has gone as far as being able to rollback people's age. It only costs a few billion dollars, but in order to keep the person who can communicate with the aliens alive, she gets a rollback. I thought it was well written and thought out.

Covid-19 is still in the news as more vaccines are plunged into people's arms. I am old enough to be one of them, but for now have decided to opt out. I'll wait and see what the future has in store before I take that plunge. I'm still not worried about catching a disease that most likely won't kill me and one I have only a very small chance of catching.

I don't know if many of you are into genealogy but I find it very interesting. I have been doing it for years and now have set up my family group on facebook and it is slowly gathering pictures and data. It takes up a little of my time, but with the weather improving, I want to spend a little more time outside so it and my writing might not get as much attention as it had.

That's it for now Talk again soon.
waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-10430946569070862672021-03-08T12:15:00.004-08:002021-03-08T12:15:18.708-08:00
Hi there. Sorry for skipping a week. Time is still going at too fast a pace to catch up. Or so it seems. At least the weather has been nicer than what it was a few weeks back. I think maybe spring is right around the corner.

As the vaccines roll out and the number of Covid cases comes down, maybe we will be out of this mess sooner than we think. Won't be soon enough for me or many others. The summer might even look a little more like normal.

I am at 59 thousand words in my book 'Bentley', the spinoff from the Tannion series that I have been writing for what seems like years. It is a slow growth, but it is growing and I hope to finish it this year. After writing 15 books in the first 10 years of retirement, I just don't seem to have the same drive or desire.

I am enjoying watching curling on TV. If you aren't a fan, I understand. It's something you have to have grown up with for many. Too slow for some, but with understanding how difficult it is to do what they are doing on the ice, it can be an amazing sport to watch.

With the warmer weather, the walks along the river have been very enjoyable, but I am looking forward to spring. Now we all need to stay healthy and let it come to us.

That's ll for now. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-77069441312672495682021-02-22T09:10:00.003-08:002021-02-22T09:10:18.359-08:00
Good morning. It's a lovely sunny day here with fairly warm temperatures for this time of year. How often can you say I'm better off here than in Texas. Quite the blast they have had and when you aren't ready for it, that kind of cold can do a lot of damage and that has been the case.

Busy week this week as I am a Canadian curling fan and the season has started. First the women and then the men. It will be a busy few weeks. We have occasionally come home from a long trip just for the curling.

On the Covid-19 front, vaccinations continue and so does the stupidity. Today is the day that the idiots we elected have decided to unlawfully detain people at the airport and force them to pay for a hotel room they don't want and which is completely unnecessary. People flying into Canada must have a negative test plus they must go home and stay home for two weeks, but now our elected officials have decided that's not enough. Now we need to punish them for being outside the country in the first place. Haven't they figured out that 99.9 percent of the population don't have the virus.

On the writing front, my latest attempt has me adding a book to Inkitt and it has now been read three times, but no reviews yet. I think it is an interesting read so if you are an Inkitt member, take a look at 'Time Tells All'.

That's all for now. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-65977223888896165102021-02-16T07:55:00.000-08:002021-02-16T07:55:08.424-08:00
Good morning. I realize that today is Tuesday, but yesterday was a holiday for many of us. so I skipped a day. Better a day late than not at all I decided.

Things are finally warming up here today after almost two weeks of very cold weather. I hope that was the end of it for this winter. It's bad enough when the people we elect tell us to stay inside, but when mother nature makes it difficult to get out it's another thing. That however never really happens. Instead of walking around outside, everyone went to the mall.

Our elected officials issued rules about how many people could shop in each store based on a small percentage of fire regulation capacity, but what that did was have stores with five people in them where they could easily stay more than double the distance apart, but leaving twenty people standing in a line with every sitting area around them full and people needing to squeeze by to go stand in a line somewhere else. Not well thought out.

I have been writing. Bentley is coming along. I managed to write a couple of chapters this last week as I slowly move it towards the end. It has been a bit of a tough haul, but hopefully I'm past the difficulties I have been having and it will move a little quicker. Still planning on publishing the fourth book in the Tannion series this year, but not getting in a rush.

I added a book to Inkitt so if you get a chance join them, check out 'Time Tells All', It's a story about lucid dreams and what they mean to one man. It is the only place it is available as it has never been published just like the other twelve books I have written and not published. I would love to get them all out there, but still not willing to pay the price.

That's it for now as maybe I will get to go for a nice walk outside with it warming up. Stay safe and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-80942978776983227322021-02-08T08:14:00.003-08:002021-02-08T08:14:51.271-08:00
Good morning on a very cold Monday morning. Very cold here this morning and it looks like at least a week or more of this kind of weather for us. It sure would be nice to be on a nice warm beach or patio someplace, but that's not the case this year. I could blame covid, but the real blame is on our so called leaders.

No rant today though. Maybe it's just too cold. What I would like to talk about is the website Inkitt.com. If you've read previous posts of mine, you might know that I have published the first 3 books in the Tannion Series. but I have also written 12 more books. Of my 15 books, 8 are in the Tannion Series, but the second book I ever wrote after Tannion is a story that I call 'Time Tells All'. The title comes from a saying that my aunt used all the time and seemed to fit with the theme of the story.

Time Tells All is a story about dreaming and about time. What's important about the book today is that I have added it as a story on Inkitt. As I am new to Inkitt, I don't understand exactly how the site works, but it appears by me putting a book up, others will be able to read it and if enough people read and comment on it, Inkitt might decide to publish it. That's about the end of my understanding and I will have to learn more, but for now, if you are interested, take a look at my story on Inkitt and see if it's something you might like to read.

I am still working away slowly on Bentley, my spinoff from the Tannion Series and I am still looking to publish the 4th book in the Tannion Series in the next few months. The cold weather is keeping me indoors more so maybe I'll find more time to write.

That's it for now so stay safe and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-22058644179967872682021-02-01T10:18:00.000-08:002021-02-01T10:18:00.336-08:00
Hi there. It's Monday morning and this time I have some news to report. I went ahead and bought a little advertising time. It didn't cost much, but in the end, it turned out to not be worth much. I didn't see one book sold, but I did have a few pages read with Kindle Unlimited. At first it was 35 pages, but then there was an additional 391 and then the next day there was another 547 pages read. I don't know if that is where it will end or not as it is possible for people to have seen the ad and do something later, but I think that's probably it.

I don't have a great idea what having a few pages read will mean to me. I understand there is some cash value if my book gets read or at least a significant portion of it. The numbers might mean my book had a couple of reads so maybe that's a couple of dollars. No where near returning my costs. I had to try though.

On more book news, I have been writing on 'Bentley' my spinoff novel from the Tannion Series and it seems to be going better. I just need to find more time to put on it. With my genealogy work, selling things on EBAY, (as well as buying), plus having my grandsons over, I seem to be as busy as ever.

Of course this Covid crap continues and just when it seems the vaccines are rolling out, they come to a halt. At least some of the restrictions are being lifted soon, but not soon enough for me. I still believe that 'no elected official should have the power to harm so many to save so few'. I know there are a lot of people out there who won't believe me and that's okay. We will agree to disagree.

That's it for this week. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-13805359833223035452021-01-25T08:16:00.000-08:002021-01-25T08:16:16.586-08:00
Hi there. I hope your year is going well. I can at least say that I have been a little more faithful in adding to this blog each week. Of course being told to stay at home should make it more possible, but in my case even more importantly is, it turned cold.

Big day tomorrow. I threw in a few advertising dollars and tomorrow my books in the Tannion Series are being advertised on Just Kindle Books. It wasn't a lot of money and there are no guarantees, but I am hopeful that I can sell a few books. Of interest is Amazon where I have sold a few books, but have never been paid. They will only cut a check when sales reach $100 and my sales have been so dismal I haven't reached that point. I am close though and it would only take a few sales to put me over the top.

I am also looking at a few more advertising slots to spend a little more money, but I want to wait until I see what this first one does. With luck, I will make my money back.

I have been writing again as well. My book 'Bentley', which is a spinoff from the Tannion Series, is moving along and I hope to keep it going now. I have over 53000 words and I think I have the next few chapters figured out and I hope I can come up with an ending before long.

When I write I usually have no idea what will come next. Once I finish a chapter the next chapter often seems obvious and so on until it's done. When it seems that way to me I can only hope that the reader doesn't feel the same. I try to throw in a twist or two to keep them guessing.

That's it for now and wish me luck. If you are looking for a read, give Tannion a try.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-60626634207312828802021-01-18T09:12:00.000-08:002021-01-18T09:12:06.952-08:00
Hi there. It's Monday morning and time to say a few words. Well, this is the week I start to move forward with the publication of my next book. The 4th book in the Tannion Series 'Tannion Future Past' is ready and waiting and all I need to do is pay for the cover, have someone format for me and it should be out. But, and there is a but, I would like to sell a few of the first three books in the Tannion series before I publish the 4th. In order to do that, I am going to have to do some advertising and get a little known first.

First up is Facebook. I will be adding a short post to my Facebook pages to let my friends know what I am doing and then twitter where I will try to do the same and finally, a number of paid advertising sites. It looks like most of them have either a website where I can put my book up for free, (have tried that a number of times with no success), or for a few dollars, they will put up tweets to their twitter followers. As I have done the twitter route with no success on my own, I can only hope the followers they have actually buy books.

On another note, some of the covid 19 restrictions here are being relaxed. Nothing close to what it should be, but our elected officials still see the need to follow the guidelines of the doomsayers and worst case scenario doctors. No matter what, we know they won't get it right.

That's it for now as I try to keep it short and sweet. Wish me luck with my sales and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-82880552104394384052021-01-11T10:50:00.001-08:002021-01-11T10:50:36.466-08:00Hi there. Another week is in the books and this time we are well into the new year. I hope everyone had as good a Christmas and New Years as was possible. We did okay with having a quiet time, but now 2021 is upon us and all I can do is hope for better. That is better decisions from those who we elect to be in charge. Better ideas on how to move forward with vaccinations and restrictions. I'm not holding my breath on either of them.

I am however moving forward with my book publication. My first act is to talk to my Facebook friends and then to the rest of the world through some form of advertising. I want to publish the fourth book in the Tannion series, but first I want to sell a few books. The first three are available on Amazon and what I need is to tell everyone out there that they are available and with luck, a few will make a purchase. I have a number of websites where I plan on spending a few dollars in advertising costs, so wish me luck.

We are still locked down here in Aberta, but not as tight as other arts of the country and around the world. Our covid case numbers are coming down, but not enough for those who feel they have the power. My position has been clear and continues to be that no elected official should have the power to harm so many to save so few. At least we have the possibility of the vaccines eventually changing even the most stubborn minds. This time wish us all luck.

That's all for now until next time.
waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-57960477613781110902021-01-04T08:12:00.004-08:002021-01-04T08:12:50.376-08:00
Good morning and welcome to my first post of 2021. We can all hope that this year is at least a little better that the last and for some, that won't take much. I have a short personal wish list. I hope to be able to travel sometime soon. I hope to be able to visit my family and I hope to publish the fourth book in the Tannion series, 'Tannion Future Past' early in the new year.

Tannion Future Past is the fourth of eight books I have written in the Tannion series and tells the story several years in the future where a much older Jim Tannion deals with the death of his former boss and the aging of his friends. One problem is that as Tannion can control his body that means he can control its ability to age and unless he wants to, he can look many years younger than how his friends expect him to look. Of course that isn't the only problem he has to deal with.

As I get ready to publish Tannion Future Past, I am putting on a push to sell a few of the first three to offset some of the costs. I have written 15 books so far and working on the next one, but have only published 3. I would love to have them all published, but with sales almost non-existent, the cost is on me and I'm not willing at this point to foot the bill for them all. I would love however to see them all in print.

Another hope that we all have this year is to see the last of Covid-19. Even more we wish to see the last of the rules and laws our elected officials see necessary to put this flu down. The vaccines are out so we can hope.

That's all for now, but if you are interested look me up on wayneelsner.com and see if you like what I feel is a good read.
waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-66643301852381264292020-12-28T08:07:00.003-08:002020-12-28T08:07:39.907-08:00
Hi there. I hope you all had a good Christmas weekend and I wish you all a happy and better new year. This last year is well worth saying goodbye to. With luck, we will be able to do some travelling sometime in 2021.

We had a good Christmas even with the lockdowns. No turkey, but we did have a very nice BBQ'd steak supper and had a chance to deliver presents and see our grandsons and talk to all our kids. Face time isn't the same as in person, but it's much better than a voice across space.

I made a promise to myself that I would get back into my writing in the new year and I have started already. I don't make New Year resolutions, but I am using the new year as a starting point. I have been writing Bentley, my Tannion spin off and enjoying the time. That's what it's all about for me, the enjoyment of writing, but I also hope to get the 4th book in the Tannion series published in the new year. As I've written before, I hope to make a few sales first and that will mean some form of advertising to get it started. Wish me luck.

Covid-19, and now a few variants, is still with us and sounds like it will be for a while. Our numbers appear to be going down, but we are still waiting on the vaccines to roll out and put an end to all this nonsense. With luck it will be mostly in our past in a short few months.

That's all for now and I hope all of you have a happy new year.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-80578463556562722882020-12-21T09:42:00.004-08:002020-12-21T09:42:58.605-08:00
Hi there. Once again it's a Monday morning and for once I have found time, (or at least remembered) to add a post to my website. It looks like big snowstorm heading our way which could result in a white Christmas. Like so many people, a Christmas unlike any other.

We hope to have a merry Christmas, but without being able to spend time with family, will it really be as merry as we would like. I still don't think someone we all elected into office should have the power to tell us who we can or cannot have into our own homes. If we gave them the power to do what they are doing, we should also be able to take it away from them. Something to think about the next time an election comes along. It's too easy to vote for the same person over and over again because they aren't that bad and the unknowns are too unknown, but sometimes we need to take a leap.

I have been working on my book, Bentley, a little, but by now you must be saying so what. My writing has been very far down on my radar, but I hope in the new year to bring it to the top. Or at least very close to the top. I want to finish Bentley, but more importantly I want to get the 4th book in the Tannion Series published. Tannion Future Past is very close. Before I do that I want to sell 100 of my existing books which might be a very daunting challenge.

I am also having the return of an old problem that I thought had gone away. My old website, which I can no longer access, keeps coming back even after I thought it was gone for good. If anyone can access this I would be surprised as it seems only the site dated back in 2016 is coming up. That might mean I am writing this in vain or maybe for a very future reference.

Therefore that's all for now and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-9432954438046132642020-12-14T08:50:00.000-08:002020-12-14T08:50:05.080-08:00
Hi there. It's another Monday morning and time keeps rolling on. We are in a big lockdown here as are many places around the world. Bars and restaurants are closed except for any takeout and delivery. Hair and nail salons are closed, but stores can stay open at 15% occupancy. I heard on the news of one hair salon that did thirteen days worth of business in the last four days. Not sure that helped the pandemic, but it must have helped their bottom line just a little.

We have been doing a lot of walking and more or less finished out Christmas shopping, but for the most part, it's the weather that will slow us down more than anything. It was a cold day yesterday, but this week it's supposed to be better. Might be able to get out into the mountains for a hike on Wednesday.

I have almost completed the major genealogy project I have been working on. It has been a consolidating and organizing project and with it complete, I can get into the next phase. I am taking an online genealogy course as well and I hope to be able to spend more time on it. I have also been busy on EBAY with my collecting. You might have heard of the Wayne Gretzky rookie hockey card that sold for well over a million dollars. I have his rookie as well, but mine isn't in that good condition so is only worth in the hundreds.

The one thing that continues to take a back seat is my writing. Maybe when I get past the Christmas season and the genealogy work, I might get back into it. My plan of having the fourth book in the Tannion series published by the end of the year is up in smoke, but it isn't dead. I have already spent the money to have it edited which means the amount I need to spend to have it published is the lesser amount and it would be foolish to not get it done. That will give me something else to do in the new year.

That's it for now. Have a good week and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-80597302164137370132020-12-07T09:08:00.001-08:002020-12-07T09:08:21.540-08:00
Hi there. It seems that I am apologizing for skipping a week or two more often than not, as again it has been three weeks since I last posted. Almost sounds like the start of a confession. I can't confess to being too busy though, maybe too lazy or at least, forgetful.

Over the intervening days we have been looking after our grandson's a fair bit and we have managed to do most of our Christmas shopping, but the main part of my day seems to be caught up in genealogy. I have had a drawer full of pictures and data for years and I am now sorting through and getting them organized.

The one thing that hasn't come up high on my radar has been my writing. I can't say that I am stuck only that I don't seem to be motivated to move on. My next book 'Bentley' is still just over fifty thousand words where it has been for several weeks. I have the next few chapter thoughts but haven't typed them out yet. Once I get my genealogy project finished, maybe I will get motivated to write.

Of course the Covid-19 mess is still with us and maybe I could blame it for some of my inability to write. Normally at this time of year we would be somewhere else other than at home and often I seem to find more time to write on the road than I do at home. With vaccines on the way, maybe we will see this thing wind down in a few months and we can get back into travelling. Days I will be looking forward to.

That's about it for now. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-45981418042633241922020-11-16T08:22:00.005-08:002020-11-16T08:22:39.569-08:00
Hi all. It's Monday morning again and again I missed a week. It has been a busy two weeks after our fourth grandson was born. Lots of looking after his brother while they got things settled. All is well now and he is doing great.

I have been working on my genealogy more than writing with over 38 thousand names currently in my file and growing. I am also still writing 'Bentley', the spinoff novel from the Tannion Series. I have fixed the problem I was having and am now moving on.

Covid 19 is still with us but there is promising news with a couple of vaccines that seem to be making good progress. It would be nice to get this over with. I am not one to call any of this a hoax, but I am still not impressed with what our governments at all levels have done in the hopes of stopping it. I just hope I can get away for a while in the new year.

I also would like to move into the next phase of publication for the next book in the Tannion Series. Book 4 'Tannion Future Past' is more or less ready for press, but there are still a few things I need to do. First however is to raise a little money to offset the costs. With this in mind, I would like to sell 100 copies of the first three books in the series. I plan on a little advertising and with luck, I will reach my goal.

If you are interested in taking a look, please check out more of my website and you can find them all on Amazon.

Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-11925804729017636622020-11-02T15:03:00.003-08:002020-11-02T15:03:39.490-08:00
Hi there. Once again a couple of weeks have gone by and I get a chance to say a few words. It has been a busy last few days as our fourth grandson was born last Friday. A healthy seven pound little boy. We spent a lot of time looking after his big brother.

I have been busy writing as well as I've been working on 'Bentley' the spinoff from the Tannion Series. I have over fifty thousand words and one problem I need to solve, but in all, it has been good to be back at it. I have still been spending time selling and buying on EBAY and working on my genealogy records. I found a family tree that I am related to that looks to go back to the year 996. Someone has done a lot of work to gather the information and I am just the lucky recipient of it.

Here in Canada our Covid numbers have been going up, but there is still a lot of interest as we watch our neighbors to the south on the eve of their big election. Not sure who will win or even who I would want to win if I lived there, but there is one thing that I hope Trump has right when he says that Covid-19 will disappear once he wins the election. Stop testing and it will almost disappear.

Time to sign off as I am a little tired. Took grandson number three to the zoo and he wore me out. Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-3410782453320234802020-10-19T12:28:00.000-07:002020-10-19T12:28:43.191-07:00
Hi there. Another week has come and gone. The change here has been with the weather. Cold, wind, and snow hit us this week and the winter coat came out of the closet. We were planning on a road trip, but there was enough of a storm that we cancelled until better weather. Hopefully it will warm up in a few days.

On the good new side is that I have started writing again after a several week break. I am working on Bentley which is a spinoff from my Tannion Series and as I took a long enough break, I have had to start at the beginning. It is already almost 50 thousand words in length so I know I am getting near the end, but I have found the best way to get there is to start at the beginning and work my way through it again.

I have also been selling off a little of my collection on EBAY and doing well with some of it, but I was also trying to sell a number of old VHS tapes including several Disney movies including a few of the supposedly more expensive black diamond classic. A quick look on EBAY will show you that some people think they are worth thousands of dollars. Good luck with that as I had them priced from five to twenty dollars and didn't sell one.

Covid-19 is still around and everyone is wearing masks still. My son is in Mexico and he says everyone has one on in the street. At least here we only need to wear it inside public buildings. I have ranted enough on this virus so no more today. Instead I will sign off.

Talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-32727671412626270112020-10-12T15:39:00.000-07:002020-10-12T15:39:09.219-07:00
Hi there. It's Monday, but not just any Monday. Here in Canada it's Thanksgiving and in the US, it's Columbus Day. Almost time for our turkey and all the trimmings and I am getting hungry just typing about it.

Another week has gone by without any writing. Makes me wonder why I would think of this as a writing post, but it is on my website dedicated to my books so it makes sense. Just doesn't make any sense not to be writing. Busy with selling things on EBAY still and working through a few old VHS tapes I still have.

Actually there are several VHS tapes and I have a number of them on EBAY for sale. Mostly the old Disney movies, but there were a few tapes of the kids that we want to get digitized so I have been going through them looking to see what we would want to save. For example, there are tapes from our daughter's dance with two hours of dancing where she only shows up for two minutes.

Still a lot of Covid-19 going on and the only thing I will say today is that even if the case numbers are going up the deaths are still low. It comes down to the fact that if a bunch of twenty to forty year olds catch a flu and none of them end up in hospital or dead, why do we care. It's just the flu at that point.

That's all for now. Have a good holiday and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-79459826822352426472020-10-05T15:29:00.002-07:002020-10-05T15:29:20.757-07:00
Hi there. Another week has gone by and as it turns out, this day is my birthday. We are having a big family meal and drinks with friends so it will be a good evening.

Nothing much else worth talking about. I am still trying to sell stuff on EBAY and having only a little luck. I have signed up for a free trial on Ancestry.ca as genealogy is another hobby of mine. I would like to say that writing was a hobby, but again this last week, it has been completely ignored.

I don't think I have written a word for a month or two. I have been busy as my last posts indicated, but the only reason I haven't been writing is more like writer's block and laziness. We all will find time for that which we enjoy.

Covid-19 is still around and I have ranted enough in the past for anyone to know where I stand and as governments everywhere haven't gotten any smarter, there is nothing I need to say.

Nice short one this week. Keep safe and talk again soon.

waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6815447494894146183.post-44755956810083046772020-09-28T13:16:00.000-07:002020-09-28T13:16:29.721-07:00
Hi there. Here it is another Monday and this time I didn't miss one. It would have been easy as right now, two of my grandsons ages 2 and 3 are here visiting and they can keep us both very busy. Often too busy to add another post, but I found a couple of minutes to quickly put down a few words.

Today I mostly want to talk about Covid-19. Here in Canada there are a few who are saying that we are into our second wave. There are provinces where the number of cases might indicate that a second wave is upon us, but we also need to look at the number of deaths as well. The death rate now is so low that using that data as the only metric, we are definitely not in a second wave.

Governments however like to keep the people scared and therefore pliable. Saying we are in a second wave makes it sound much worse than what it really is and that will allow further restrictions on the people who voted them into power.

My big question is simple, "What is the end game?" The only thing I can gather from what is happening is a simple continuation of what all elected governments are there for. They are only elected for a short period of time and their number one job is to make sure they get re-elected. They can use the corona virus to make themselves look good and the only way to do that is to scare the people who vote for them and then make it look as if they are doing the best they can to keep us all safe.

In reality what they are doing is putting restrictions on the very people they are there to help in a situation where they are very questionable. If no one is dying, (almost no one), is there really a pandemic.

Enough rant for now and talk again soon.
waynekindhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06039278345121245484noreply@blogger.com0
