Hi there. Here it is May 4 and things are finally coming out of lock down. Couldn't come fast enough for me, but at least it's coming. Things need to get back to near normal as soon as possible. My near normal doesn't mean much change until this fall when I hope to be able to travel somewhere in the world. The summer is a stay at home time for the most part anyway.
Slowly doing some writing and getting closer to publishing the fourth book in the Tannion Series (Tannion Future Past). I was hoping to be done my genealogy project by now, but it just keeps on going, but the end looks to be in sight giving me more time to write. That's not saying I will take that time to write, but at least I will have it.
One of my grandson's is turning three next week so we have presents to buy and a party to go to next week. A very small party. He tells us he wants three presents to unwrap and it doesn't sound like it matters what is inside the paper as long as there is paper to rip off.
Sold a book yesterday on Amazon. Sales are so slow that selling one is a big deal. Would love to sell more and hope to work into some advertising this summer.
That's all for now so talk again soon.

Hi there. April 27 and for the most part we are still in lock down as are so many people around the world, but it is starting to ease up in some places. Hopefully this finds all of you safe and sound, but if you are like me, I'm more worried about what the lock down is doing to people than what the virus is.
I've been keeping busy or at least as busy as I can. Taking nice long walks along the river twice a day most days, food shopping as required and a little writing. I do have a problem though. I am trying to add page numbers to my book as my last formatting task and as I want different numbering for the chapter pages than the rest, I am having trouble learning how. If there are any word wizards out there, I would love to hear from you.
I am writing away on Bentley which is a spin off of the Tannion Series and will be my 16th book when finished. As I have only 3 books published, the rest wait until I can raise enough money to self publish. The cost is in the editing mostly, but with a total lack of sales, I am holding off. I am looking into some forms of advertising both free and paid so I can sell a few more books, but as of yet haven't made the jump into actually paying for any. Getting closer.

Hi there. Is it day 999 in isolation or does it only feel that way. Hope this finds you all okay with no one too negatively impacted. I know that everyone has been impacted in one way or another, but some have it worse.
This might be a perfect time for some of the authors to put a lot of words down on paper, or at least on their laptops. Personally, not so much, but I hope to improve upon this. I have been working on a large genealogy project for the past few weeks and although it isn't over, I am changing gears and will be working more on my books.
That was my segue.
I am working on 'Bentley' and hope to keep the story line going. With over thirty thousand words it is about a third of the way through the story. I am also looking to get the fourth book in the Tannion series published. Of course I have been working on Bentley and publishing the fourth book for several months now so that is really nothing new.
What might be new is a change in tactics to see if I can sell a few books. My sales are flat and I don't mean plateaued at some nice number, I mean flat at zero. I need to sell a few before I can publish and now is the time to see what I can do.
Please if you have any ideas and especially if you have a site that I can relatively cheaply buy into that has progressed your sales, I would love to hear from you.
That's all until the next time.

Hi there. The days keep moving on even in this semi-isolated world we find ourselves in. It isn't too bad at my end as there is enough to keep us busy and a nice river walk to pass some time outside. The weather is even trying to get a little nicer but no where near warm.
I hope anyone reading this is healthy both physically and mentally. This virus can take a tole on both. The good news is, it seems to be easing in parts of the world meaning it will eventually ease here as well and hopefully in weeks and not months. Time will tell or as the title of one of my books tells you, Time Tells All.
Let me tell you a little more about my book 'Time Tells All'. First the title comes from a saying that my late aunt used often. Where most of us would say 'time will tell' she would say 'time tells all'. I dedicated the book to my aunt and uncle. It was the second book I wrote after the first in the Tannion series but to date it isn't published. It's set in a typical household in anywhere small town America. The main character starts to dream what to him are extremely intense and vivid dreams that almost seem real. His wife does some research online and finds that maybe they are real. The dreams continue and eventually come to a head in what I hope is an interesting ending. I also hope that one day I will actually publish the book. If anyone is interested in reading it ahead of time, let me know. also there is more about it on this website along with all my titles.
That's all for now. Stay say and talk again soon.

Another week has come and gone and like everyone else, we have been pretty much isolated. Luckily we have a nice walk we can take along the river and stay away from people so it's not as bad as having to stay within the four walls. I wish I could say I was using the time wisely and writing up a storm, but sadly that has not been the case. Just haven't had the drive.
I have been keeping busy though with working on my taxes (yeah fun), reading and adding names to my genealogical file. It has been enough to do as long as the weather is good enough to go for long walks in the afternoon and after supper.
All this doesn't mean I have given up getting my next book published, but it is going to be slow. It might happen a little later in the year. Of course as I don't have a sales team or a well set up network, I don't have any pre-sales or even the possibility of pre-sales. I would love to sell some copies, but I know I write and publish more for my own well being. It would be nice if someone read and was entertained by my books though.
Maybe I will get a little writing done this next week. I'll let you know.
Until next time.

Hi there. It's Monday but somehow it doesn't feel much like the start of a new week. It's looks like a little more of the same. The streets are quiet, most of the stores are closed, the stock markets are going down again and the news is full of how many new cases and how many dead.
The good news is that we here are all alive and healthy. So far none of my family or friends have come down with the virus and we are all isolating or at best, social distancing. We have a great path along the river that isn't so busy where you can go for a walk and still stay away from everyone.
I am also still writing my next book, 'Bentley', and working towards having the 4th book in the Tannion series published. My major problem now is formatting and within that problem it is mostly adding appropriate page numbers. I want all my books to have the same look and that means the same page numbering. I haven't been able to figure that out on my own yet and have found someone who will help for a price, but I haven't gone far enough yet to make the decision to pay them. That will come in the next month or so. So if anyone has a better idea, please email me.
I've been working on other projects as well including my collections, my kids genealogy, going for long walks and watching Netflix. As all of us are hoping, I hope this stays away from everyone and is over soon. I doubt either of those is possible, but we can hope.
I would also like to sell a few books. At this point sales are very flat and I'm not sure what would give my sales a kick start. Please send me any ideas.
Thanks and until next time.

Okay. It's been a while. Between doing some travelling and maybe being a little lazy and now this virus, I haven't been that motivated. Time to get that way especially when, like everyone else, I will be spending more time at home. I hope Covid19 leaves you all alone and that everyone stays healthy.
Now to update you a little on what I have been doing, book wise that is. I have more or less completed the editing with one more pass through required to make sure I caught all of the editor's changes and that I didn't add any problems going over her edits. That should take a while, but it isn't my biggest problem. I need to complete the purchase for the cover, but that is already decided and I only need to make the purchase. The major problem I face is formatting.
I need to format the document before I pass it to be published. I plan on using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing but having never used it before, I think I have a lot to learn. I used Createspace in the past and I would pay them to format my document prior to publishing. My major problem is page numbers. I want this 4th book in the series to look very similar to the first 3 and that means similar formatting and at this time I don't know how. Please send me any ideas if you have them.
I also hope to keep this blog up on a regular basis as I have tried before and failed. Maybe this time I will succeed. Until next time.
